Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan confirmed that he tested positive for COVID-19. Even though he is positive, he will continue to work and lead virtual meetings while conducting self-isolation.
He was tested positive for COVID-19 based on PCR swab test result that came out on Tuesday (12/1) morning.
Jakarta's Latest Official COVID-19 Cases as of November 30On last Wednesday (11/25), he had also done routine PCR swab test which resulted negative.
On Sunday (11/29), after Jakarta Vice Governor, Ahmad Riza Patria (Ariza) was tested positive of COVID-19, Anies also had an antigen swab test and the result was negative.
Few days earlier, Anies had met with Ariza for a meeting.
Currently, he is in a good condition without symptoms.
"After consulting with doctor, and based on his instruction, I will undergo self-isolation and follow treatment procedures set by medical team," he stated, on Tuesday (12/1), as quoted from Jakarta Communication, Informatics, and Statistics (Kominfo) Agency through press release.
He explained that all close contact, both family and staff in his office had taken PCR tests.
"I will isolate myself from my family and I will live alone. Meanwhile, my family will remain to stay in private residence," he conveyed.
He hopes people who have interacted with him in the past few days can conduct self-isolation or take PCR Swab Test.
"For anyone who has met me in the last few days, they can contact the nearest puskesmas to undergo swab test. Of course, the tracking team from Health Agency will record and find out people that have close contact with me. All related procedures will be carried out," he mentioned.
Although he was tested positive and without symptoms, he will continue to lead virtual meetings that have been scheduled.
"I will continue to work to led meetings virtually. Since March, we have been accustomed to work virtually, and God willing, there will be no disruption in policy-making process," he explained.
He informed, Governor office as well as Vice Governor Office in Block B will be closed according to health protocols. The main building of Jakarta City Hall, which located in different area from governor and vice governor's offices will still operate under strict health protocols.
He also reminds people to be more obedient in implementing 3M by wearing mask, maintaining distance, and washing their hands often.
